A continuing serial set in a fictional park in “Anytown”. They say that parks are the lungs of a city. Our park. Breathing for our city.
In summer 2020, with Covid-19 making it impossible to get TV projects considered, we decided instead to produce a pilot radio episode of Parklife. It was broadcast on Saturday, 14 November 2020 on Sophie Little’s Upload show on BBC Radio Norfolk and repeated on 21 December.
We were delighted with the positive response from the audience. One listener said “hope Radio Norfolk will take it on for a series. I felt I knew the characters by the end and was left wanting to know more about them“!
If you missed it or you want to listen to it again, it’s available here:
Norfolk’s leading regional newspaper, the Eastern Daily Press, described the show as “captur[ing] the spirit of our times“. It also received coverage in the Iceni Post.
The pilot was written by Nicholas McInerny, an award winning scriptwriter at broadcast level with over 75 professional credits. He is also a copywriter, an educational and blended learning specialist, a senior lecturer in creative writing, and as he puts it himself, “one of life’s eternal enthusiasts”! We are delighted to be working with Nicholas on this project, and are looking forward to seeing Parklife come to fruition at last.
